Paresh Rawal’s unexpected departure from Hera Pheri 3 has been a topic of discussion for several weeks. Initially, it was reported that the actor left the film due to creative differences. However, on May 18, Paresh took to X to formally announce that he is no longer involved with Hera Pheri 3. The actor stated, “I wish to clarify that my decision to withdraw from ‘Hera Pheri 3’ was not a result of creative differences. I emphasize that there are no creative disagreements with the filmmaker. I have great love, respect, and trust in Mr. Priyadarshan.”
After Paresh Rawal’s exit from Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar, who is also one of the producers of the film, reportedly filed a lawsuit against him, seeking Rs 25 crore in damages and threatening both civil and criminal action. Akshay’s production company claimed that it had already paid the veteran actor Rs 11 lakh as a partial payment and that he had filmed a promotional clip along with other videos for the project.
However, Paresh Rawal has now officially confirmed his return as Babu Bhaiya in Hera Pheri 3. He stated that prior issues—including a legal conflict with Akshay Kumar—have been resolved, and he is rejoining the original trio along with director Priyadarshan.
In an interview with SCREEN, Paresh highlighted that there was never a creative disagreement, but rather a necessity for everyone to “fine tune” their collaboration—now successfully addressed. He affirmed his return with a simple, “Yes.” Akshay Kumar (Raju), Suniel Shetty (Shyam), and Paresh Rawal (Babu Bhaiya) are confirmed to be reunited. Director Priyadarshan is also back, ensuring the franchise retains its signature comedic style. A promotional shoot has already been conducted, indicating that progress is actively underway.
In a podcast featuring Himanshu Mehta, Paresh was questioned regarding the controversy surrounding Hera Pheri 3. He responded, “There is no controversy. I think that when something is cherished by the audience, one must exercise extra caution. It is our duty to the viewers. The audience has showered you with immense appreciation. You cannot take that for granted. We must work hard to deliver (the film) to them.”
The actor further stated, “Thus, I believed that everyone should come together and put in the effort. Nothing more. It is all settled now.” When host Himanshu Mehta reiterated that Hera Pheri 3 with the original cast is indeed in progress, Paresh Rawal remarked, “It was always meant to happen, but we simply needed to refine our approach (laughs). After all, they are all creative individuals, whether it be Priyadarshan, Akshay, or Suniel. They have been friends for many, many, many years.”
