Reports indicate that Rawal left the film due to disputes regarding a ₹15 crore contract clause. In a professional gesture, he returned his ₹11 lakh signing fee, along with 15% annual interest and an additional goodwill sum.
In the wake of his departure, Akshay Kumar’s production company accused Rawal of unprofessional behavior, asserting that he had already filmed scenes for the movie. However, a source close to Rawal denied these allegations, asserting that he had not filmed any scenes for the project and labeled the accusations as unjust.
Akshay Kumar has since weighed in on the situation, recognizing Rawal as a good friend while suggesting that the matter will be resolved through legal channels.
In 2021, it was reported that Paresh Rawal was approached by the team behind Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, but he declined the opportunity due to financial concerns. When questioned, Rawal stated to a news portal, “I didn’t like the script, so I didn’t want to be a part of it. I don’t believe in creating a sequel merely to profit from the success of the first installment, as was the case with Hera Pheri.
