Rahul Raj Singh known for his work in Indian television has opened up for the first time in nine years about the events following Pratyusha Banerjee’s tragic death. Rahul who faced allegations of emotional, physical and financial harassment, revealed how he felt abandoned by those he considered friends. Highlighting his close connection to actor Karanveer Mehra, Rahul Raj Singh shared his disappointment over not receiving any support from the industry despite helping several artists in their careers.
In the reecnt interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rahul shared his struggles during the controversy. When asked why his close friends didn’t stand by him, he emotionally said, “Vo nahi hue na khade isliye toh mujhe iss baat ka bahut bahut dukh hai” (They didn’t stand by me, and that’s why this deeply saddens me).
‘Karanveer Mehra ko maine kitna…’: Rahul Raj Singh Opens Up
Rahul named several people he believed abandoned him including Gurmeet Chaudhary, Rohit Roy, Yuzvendra Chahal and Karanveer Mehra. Specifically mentioning Karanveer Mehra, Rahul Raj Singh said, “Na Gurmeet ne phone kiya, na Karanveer Mehra ne phone kiya. Karanveer Mehra ko toh maine kitna kaam diya. Usko Delhi mein event diya, usko main Sri Lanka leke gaya tha… vo mere cricket team ka pehla sadhasya tha jab humlog cricket team kar rahe the, when Karan was married to his first wife.” (Neither Gurmeet nor Karanveer called me. I gave Karanveer so much work. I got him events in Delhi, took him to Sri Lanka… he was the first member of my cricket team when we started it, back when Karan was married to his first wife).

The Journey After Pratyusha’s Death
Rahul revealed that Pratyusha’s friends Kamya Punjabi and Ejaz Khan stood by her after her demise, accusing him of murder. But he lamented how no one was there for him when false allegations came his way. In the same interview, he also spoke about his struggle with alcoholism and how fatherhood changed him.
In 2018, Rahul married Saloni Sharma and the couple are now parents of a two-year-old daughter. He said he quit his bad habits for his family and is trying to move forward.
