After immense anticipation, and much wait – Kangana Ranaut directed, produced and performed film “Emergency” released at the box office on January 17th,2025. Marking one of her biggest comebacks, the film released after a lot of rejections, cut and additions in the film to fulfilll Censor Board’s order. However, the opening day collection of the film has not been as impressive as the film seemed to be. Though the film collected positive feedbacks from all corners of the social media, the Emergency box office collection Day 1 narrated a different story.

Emergency Box Office Collection Day 1
According to the industry reporter Sacnilk, Emergency box office collection day 1 reached upto 2.35 crores in India Net collection. Though the film marks one of Kangana Ranaut’s biggest opening at the box office so far, however it appeared to give a lukewarm start, despite holding a strong storyline of the previous era, when an Emergency was imposed in the entire nation under the governance of former Prime Minister Late Smt. Indira Gandhi. It moves around the complexities that took place and shows the series of events of how things worked back then.
With just an occupancy of 19.26% in the Hindi language, Emergency failed to begin with a storm on its opening day. Because the 2.35 crore collection is relatively good, and much better than most of the Bollywood film’s opening collection, it is still expected to come out with stronger figures over the weekend. It will be interesting to see if the Kangana directorial could really hit the mark, or once again turns out to be a failed attempt by her at the box office.
