Sab TV’s most popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is in the news once again. The longest running sitcom of Indian television was making headlines due to some wrong reasons. Earlier this evening, reports of the OG actor Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal quitting the show swirled on the internet. Dilip who is the soul of this comedy serial was told of getting into a serious heated argument with the show producer Asit Kumar Modi. However, the reports of this news have been declared as a baseless rumor by the actor himself.
Dilip Joshi passed a statement to clarify that there was no argument that took place, back in August and the news circulating since evening is completely false. Issuing a statement, Dilip aka Jethalal said, “I just want to clear the air about all these rumours going around. There have been some stories in the media about me and Asit Bhai that are completely false, and it really saddens me to see such things being said. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a show that means so much to me and millions of fans, and when people spread baseless rumors, it hurts not only us but also our loyal viewers”.
Adding further, he mentions It’s disheartening to see negativity being spread about something that has brought so much joy to so many for so many years. Every time such rumours pop up, it feels like we’re constantly explaining that they are completely untrue. It’s tiring, and it’s frustrating because it’s not just about us—it’s about all the fans who love the show and get upset reading these things.”
Dilip Joshi also tried defending his friend and show producer Asit Modi and denied the rumors of his exit from the show. He stated that he feels that people are intentionally trying to demean Asit Modi’s image,despite him being a good man.
