Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 Movie Review:
Ready with a repartee and quick-witted as the host of a comedy show, Kapil Sharma’s image pulls it off.
When Mohan/Mehmood/Michael (Kapil Sharma) marries Meera (Tridha Choudhury), Ruhi (Ayesha Khan) and Jenny (Parul Gulati) though his heart ticks only for Saniya (Hira Warina), he must think on his feet to glib talk his way out of situations.
Writer-director Anukalp Goswami ensures that the fun never stops.
The first thought may be that Kapil Sharma is not really hero material. But soon, Mohan-turned-Mehmood’s comic ‘Kabool hai, chacha’, Mohan-turned-Michael’s “I do” which turns to “I have to”, his “Maa banna hai ki madrassa kholna hai?” and his ‘Thoko taali’ take-off on Navjot Singh Sidhu are mirthful moments that Kapil effortlessly carries off.
With Harvinder Singh alias Hubby (Manjot Singh), a mandatory sidekick always present, there’s humour at every turn. Jamie Lever on a ‘Majnu bhagao, beti bachao’ watch, Hubby’s Dubai operator shots, Asrani’s multi-lingual Goan priest, Sushant Singh’s Inspector David Dcosta, a Kinnher Garden, a blood donation drive and a mall sequence where all three wives converge, keep the entertainment going. Kids are normally annoying but this time, even schoolkid Rizwan (Master Aarav Rakesh Jain) wanting a PS5 adds to the merry chaos.
Lines like ‘Samvidhan hai jo sabka saath…’ are refreshing without abuses or double entendres and Goswami gets likeable performances from the entire cast. From Kapil Sharma and all the wives to reliable veterans Sushant Singh, Akhilendra Mishra, Vipin Sharma and the late Govardhan Asrani, they make a neat fit in their roles.
While it’s not a chartbusting album, the songs and dances flow smoothly into the narration.
Simple, old fashioned goodness and communal harmony finally emerge out of the comic mayhem. But this is not statement making cinema.
The best part is that Goswami manages to serve clean, inoffensive fun.
