Just when fans thought the debate around the next Don was finally over, things seem to have taken a sharp turn. Ranveer Singh who was announced as the new face of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, is now reportedly no longer part of the project.
What Changed After Dhurandhar?
After the massive response to Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh appears to be reassessing his upcoming choices. According to a Pinkvilla report, a source close to the development shared that the actor is now being extremely selective about what he signs next.
“With Dhurandhar’s massive success, Ranveer is very clear about the kind of films he wants to do next. He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn’t want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films,” the source said.
The insider further revealed that this is also why Ranveer has asked Jai Mehta to prepone the shoot of Pralay. “Ranveer is keen on fast-tracking the project and bringing it on floors sooner than planned,” the source added.
Don 3 Gets Pushed, Hunt Begins Again
The report suggests that Ranveer was supposed to begin preparations for Don 3 right after Dhurandhar released. However, plans have now changed. “Right after the release of Dhurandhar, Ranveer was scheduled to begin preparations for Don 3. However, given the current situation, the film is now pushed,” an insider stated.
Despite this, work on Don 3 hasn’t stopped completely. Kriti Sanon has already been locked in as the female lead, and the makers are planning a large-scale shoot across Europe. Reports also claim the team is now searching for a fresh face to step into the Don universe with shooting tentatively planned for early 2026.
