Candidates who passed out in 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply for the Apprenticeship posts. Final-year appearing candidates can also apply but must furnish their final results/mark sheet at the time of selection. Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or have job experience of one year or more after acquiring the required qualification are not eligible under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
What is the Age Limit for IUAC Recruitment 2026?
For the Direct Recruitment posts, the age limit is 26 years for Scientist-C, 30 years for Junior Engineer-C, and 34 years for Library Assistant-C, as on the closing date. Age relaxation of up to 5 years is available for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for PwD candidates against reserved posts, along with additional relaxation for Ex-servicemen and departmental candidates as per Government of India norms.

IUAC Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process for the Direct Recruitment posts under Advt. No. 06/2026 will be based on a written test followed by an Interview for Scientist-C, and a written test followed by a Skill/Trade Test for Junior Engineer-C and Library Assistant-C. All stages of the recruitment process will be held in Delhi/New Delhi only.
For the Apprenticeship posts under Advt. No. 07/2026, selection will be made based on a merit list prepared as per the academic credentials of the candidates.

IUAC Recruitment 2026 Salary/Stipend
Candidates selected as Scientist-C, Junior Engineer-C, and Library Assistant-C under the IUAC Direct Recruitment 2026 will receive pay as per Level-10 and Level-6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, along with allowances such as DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, LTC, and medical reimbursement as per IUAC rules. The initial appointment of Scientist-C will be as a Scientist Trainee, carrying a stipend of ₹55,000 per month during the one-year training period, after which the trainee will be absorbed as Scientist-C in Level-10.
Candidates selected under the Apprenticeship Training Program will receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹9,600 to ₹12,300, depending on the category, along with medical facilities as per IUAC norms applicable to students. The apprenticeship engagement is purely temporary and valid for a period of one year, and does not confer any right or claim for regular appointment at IUAC.
