Age Limit
Candidates born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply. In case a candidate clears all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit as on the date of enrolment should be 22 years.
Marital Status
Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible for enrolment. Agniveervayu who marry or are found to be married during the engagement period will be dismissed from service. Female Agniveervayu must additionally undertake not to become pregnant during the four-year engagement period.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Matriculation/10th or equivalent, with minimum pass marks, from any Central, State, and UT Government recognised School/Board as on the date of registration.
Music Ability
- Candidates must have proficiency in music with accuracy in tempo, pitch, and singing one complete song, along with the ability to perform in notations like Staff notation, Tablature, Tonic Solfa, Hindustani, or Carnatic.
- Candidates must have proficiency in playing at least one instrument from List A (Concert Flute/Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, Bass/Tuba) or List B (Keyboard/Organ/Piano, Guitar, Violin/Viola/String Bass, Percussion/Drums, All Indian Classical Instruments).
- Proficiency in two instruments (one from each list) is desirable.
Musical Experience Certificate
Candidates should possess any one of the following:
- Grade 5th or equivalent (or above) in an instrument from a recognised music institute (TCL, RSM, KM Music Conservatory, TSM, GMI, Berklee School of Music, etc.), OR
- A Diploma or equivalent in Hindustani/Carnatic Classical Music from a recognised university, OR
- Certificate of participation/awards presented at various events (for blowing instrument performers with staff notation).
