AIIMS CRE 5 Tie-Breaking Criteria 2026

In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, ties will be resolved in the following order:

  1. Higher marks in the domain-specific section (80 MCQs)
  2. Fewer wrong answers / lesser negative marks
  3. Date of birth — older candidate ranked higher
  4. Alphabetical order of name, followed by father’s name and mother’s name

Age Limit & Relaxation

Age eligibility is determined as of the closing date of online registration (30th June 2026). Age relaxation is available for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Government employees, and candidates from Jammu & Kashmir. SC/ST/OBC candidates who apply for unreserved vacancies are not eligible for age relaxation. Detailed age limits and relaxation criteria for each post group are available in ANNEXURE-I and ANNEXURE-III of the official DRA.

AIIMS CRE 5 Selection Process 2026

The selection process for CRE-5 consists of two stages for posts requiring a skill test, and one stage for the rest:

Stage I: Computer Based Test (CBT) — common for all groups
Stage II: Skill Test — applicable to specific groups (e.g., Stenography Test for Group 20, Typing Test for Group 19, Trade Test for Group 6, PET & PST for Group 53, etc.)

The final merit list is prepared solely on the basis of CBT performance. Where a Skill Test is applicable, it is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the CBT but fail the Skill Test will only be considered for posts within that group where no Skill Test is required.

After the merit list is prepared, qualified candidates will be invited to exercise their choices and preferences for participating institutes. Candidates who fail to submit their choices within the specified period will not be considered for any institute.
