IGNOU has opened its admission window for the July 2026 session. Whether you’re a fresh applicant or looking to add a new qualification, the university is accepting applications for hundreds of programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and PhD levels — in both ODL and fully online modes. The window is open till July 15, 2026.
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially launched the admission process for its July 2026 academic session, starting May 25, 2026. Students can register through the official portal at ignou.ac.in or the Samarth portal at ignou.samarth.edu.in.
IGNOU is one of the largest open universities in the world, offering flexible education through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes. Its 21 academic schools cover a vast range of disciplines, making it a popular choice for working professionals, homemakers, and students in remote areas alike.

- Click the “Fresh Admission” link on the homepage
- Read all instructions carefully, then register with your email and mobile number (OTP verification required)
- Log in and fill in your personal details along with programme preferences
- Upload required documents — photo, signature, educational certificates, category certificate (if applicable)
- Pay the application fee via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI
- Review and submit the form
- Download the confirmation page and fee receipt for future reference
The registration fee is non-refundable under all circumstances. If you cancel before admission confirmation, the remaining fee is fully refunded. A deduction of 15% of the programme fee (up to ₹2,000) applies if cancellation is requested after admission confirmation. No refund is available after 60 days from the closing date of admissions.
To cancel an application, use the cancellation option in your applicant login — do not send emails or submit requests via iGRAM. Note that cancellation is irreversible.
In parallel, IGNOU has also released hall tickets for the June 2026 Term-End Examination (TEE). Students can download their admit cards from the Samarth portal using their registered Login ID.
The admit card includes exam dates, centre details, candidate information, and instructions for exam day. Students should verify all details carefully. Any discrepancy must be reported to university authorities immediately. Note that centre change requests will not be accepted — candidates must appear at the centre mentioned on their admit card only. Exams begin June 1, 2026.
