IIT ISM Summer Research Internship 2026 Vacancy / Seats
The number of seats varies by department and funding type.
- Institute Funded: 3 seats per Department for Category-I and 3 seats per Department for Category-II. Out of these 3, one intern must be from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad itself.
- Project Funded: As per the availability of projects and funding with faculty guides.
- Self-Funded: As per the requirement of the Department.
IIT(ISM) Summer Research Internship 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
- Category-I (B.Tech): Must be currently enrolled in a B.Tech program.

The selection of candidates for the IIT(ISM) Summer Research Internship will be based on the recommendations of the departmental Research Internship Scheme (RIS) Committee. The committee will evaluate applications based on:
- Academic Record (CGPA): As per the minimum CGPA criteria.
- Research Potential: Based on the research proposal (500 words), publications in refereed journals (if any), and awards.
- Letters of Recommendation: From three referees.
