Selection Process
The selection process for HPPSC Law Officer Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages:

Scheme of Examination:
- Paper-I (Screening Test): Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Test of 1 hour, 100 marks, objective type MCQ with negative marking. Syllabus includes General Knowledge of H.P., National/International Affairs, Hindi & English Language.
- Paper-II (Subject Aptitude Test – SAT): Descriptive test of 3 hours, 120 marks, as per syllabus to be uploaded on the website.
- Personality Test: 30 marks, held at the Commission’s office in Shimla. Minimum pass marks are 40% for General and 30% for Reserved categories.
Candidates who qualify the written tests based on merit will be called for the Personality Test. The final ranking will be determined by marks obtained in SAT (120 marks) + Personality Test (30 marks).
