The Basics of the Paper:

Subject Breakdown

The weightage of subjects changes slightly depending on which course you choose:

Subject / Area B.A. LL.B. (Marks) B.Com. LL.B. (Marks)
English 15 15
General Awareness 30 10
Legal Awareness & Logical Reasoning 45 45
Mathematical Aptitude 10 30
Total 100 100

How to Prepare: A Simple Strategy

Even if you haven’t started yet, you can excel in XLAT by focusing on these four areas:

1. English (15 Marks)

Focus on basic grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Practice reading news articles daily to improve your speed.

2. General Awareness (10–30 Marks)

This section tests your knowledge of the world. Keep an eye on “Current Affairs” from the last 6–12 months. Pay special attention to awards, sports, and major government decisions.

3. Legal Awareness & Logical Reasoning (45 Marks)

This is the most important section. You don’t need to be an expert in law, but you should understand basic legal terms and how to solve puzzles or patterns. It’s all about “thinking like a lawyer” using logic to find the best answer.

4. Mathematical Aptitude (10–30 Marks)

If you are applying for B.Com. LL.B., this section is vital. Brush up on Class 10 level math like percentages, profit and loss, and ratios.

Application Process: Step-by-Step

  1. Register: Visit the official SXUK Admission Portal and register with your email and mobile number.
  2. Verify: Use the OTP sent to your phone to verify your account.
  3. Fill Details: Enter your personal and academic info. Note: You will need your Aadhaar Card number.
