Sometimes a single memory can shape everything that follows. For Bollywood’s King Shah Rukh Khan, that moment sits deep within his childhood and early youth, long before the fame, the films and the global love he receives today.
At a recent event in Dubai, where a new commercial tower was launched in his name, SRK joined his close friend Farah Khan on stage. In a heartfelt conversation, he spoke about the turning point that pushed him to work harder and dream bigger.
Talking to Farah, Shah Rukh said, “My life-changing moment, Farah, because we are talking about that, was the passing away of my parents at a very young age. I thought they had become stars in the sky. Mujhe laga woh tara ban chuke hain and they will not be able to see me.”
He shared how this loss shaped his entire journey. “So, I worked harder to become a bigger person. God has been very kind. I just put a bronze statue of myself from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in London. I won a National Award, and now I have a building in Dubai which is my name. The idea was to become so big on Earth that my parents can see me from heaven. For me, that is the life-changing moment,” he said.
Farah responded, “This is as close to the sky as one can get,” referring to the tower. SRK softly added, “I hope they can see me from there.”

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in the most-anticipated project titled ‘KING’. Backed by under his home banner Red Chillies Entertainment in partner with Marflix Pictures,the film brings SRK and his daughter Suhana together onscreen for the first time. And the ensemble cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi and more.
