Karisma Kapoor, along with her children Samaira and Kiaan, her sister Kareena Kapoor Khan, and brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan, attended a profoundly emotional prayer meeting in Delhi on June 22, 2025, to honor the late industrialist.
The prayer meeting was held at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi on June 22, following Sunjay’s unexpected passing on June 12 in London at the age of 53. Although she is his ex-wife, Karisma stood in solidarity with Priya, Sunjay’s current wife, to pay their respects, joined by Kareena, Saif, and notable figures such as Neha Dhupia who provided their support. The combined presence of both families—comprising Sunjay’s current wife and children, as well as Karisma and her children—highlighted a united and compassionate front during this challenging period.
During this period of mourning, the family came together to pray for Sunjay Kapur. In one of the images from the prayer gathering, Karisma Kapoor, the former spouse of Sunjay Kapur, was observed standing directly behind his widow, Priya Sachdev. The children, Samaira, Kiaan, and Safira, were also visible with their hands clasped in prayer. All appeared to be deeply affected by the tragic loss. Additionally, another video features Karisma Kapoor and others welcoming attendees with their hands folded.
Sunjay’s funeral services took place on June 19 at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in Delhi, prior to the prayer gathering. These moments encapsulated a touching mixture of grief, compassion, and family unity—demonstrating that in times of sorrow, differences diminish, and a collective reverence for a life that has been lost unites individuals.
