Sunjay Kapur, the former spouse of actress Karisma Kapoor and a close associate of Prince William, passed away on June 12 while participating in a polo match in England. Early reports indicated that Sunjay, aged 53, suffered a heart attack during the game of polo.
The funeral service for industrialist Sunjay Kapur, who was previously married to actress Karisma Kapoor, is scheduled to take place in New Delhi today.
Furthermore, a prayer meeting in his honor is planned for June 22. Sunjay passed away from a heart attack while participating in a polo match in London. According to reports from NDTV, it has been indicated that his last rites will occur on Thursday at 5 pm at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi. In addition, a note circulating on social media states that a prayer meeting will be conducted on June 22 from 4 pm to 5 pm at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi.
This note is signed by his mother, Rani Surinder Kapur, his wife Priya, and his children Safira and Azarias. It also includes the names of his children with his ex-wife Karisma, namely Samaira and Kiaan.
Ashok Sachdev, who is Sunjay’s father-in-law and the father of his wife Priya Sachdev, informed NDTV that the funeral is scheduled to occur in Delhi. “The postmortem is presently in progress. After the necessary paperwork is finalized, the body will be transported to India for the final rites,” he stated.
This update follows reports from multiple sources connected to the family indicating that Sunjay’s funeral has been postponed due to legal issues related to his US citizenship.
