Blockbusters She Let Go: Kareena Kapoor’s Most Surprising Rejected Films

Kareena Kapoor Khan, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actresses, has turned down several high-profile films over the years. While some of these decisions were based on personal preferences, others were due to scheduling conflicts or creative differences. Here’s a list of notable films she rejected:

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam: The film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was first presented to Kareena, who declined the offer, resulting in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being cast in the role.

Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai: Kareena was originally selected to star alongside Hrithik Roshan in his debut film but withdrew from the project after a few days of filming, as she felt the narrative was overly centered on the male protagonist. Ameesha Patel took her place, and the film achieved tremendous success.

Kal Ho Naa Ho: Karan Johar extended an offer to Kareena for the character of Naina in this romantic drama. It has been reported that her request for a higher salary led to her being replaced by Preity Zinta.

Chennai Express: In this film directed by Rohit Shetty and featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena was considered for the leading female role. However, due to scheduling conflicts, she was unable to accept, and the part was given to Deepika Padukone.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s version of Romeo and Juliet was initially offered to Kareena. She turned it down, and the character of Leela was ultimately portrayed by Deepika Padukone.

Queen: The role of Rani Mehra was first offered to Kareena but was later taken on by Kangana Ranaut. The film subsequently became both a critical and commercial triumph.

Dil Dhadakne Do: Zoya Akhtar’s ensemble film, which revolves around a dysfunctional family on a cruise, was initially proposed to Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor. Kareena declined the offer, and the roles were later assigned to Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh.

While some of these films went on to become major hits, Kareena’s career trajectory remains impressive, with her own set of iconic performances.
