Pushpa and Allu Arjun have become inseparable names in Indian cinema, thanks to the massive success of the franchise. While some have debated whether the film glorifies dominant personality traits, Allu Arjun believes otherwise. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor shared his perspective on alpha-ness, his rise to stardom and how he remains grounded despite earning massive feat of success.
Talking about the idea of dominance and leadership, he clarified, “Alpha-ness is in the mind. You can’t take it away. That’s an inborn trait,” seems the statement comes in response to critics who argue that films influence behaviour. The actor also acknowledged that Pushpa 2: The Rule gave him the opportunity of a lifetime. He shared, “I had the biggest opportunity of my lifetime: to mark myself as an actor at the Indian box office.” With the film breaking records, Allu Arjun is now regarded as one of the most bankable stars in the industry.
Pushpa Star Allu Arjun on Success and Staying Grounded
Despite his massive stardom, the Pushpa actor maintains that success has made him more humble. “With success comes a lot of humility. I’ve seen many people become humbler with success. It goes both ways. It depends upon the person,” he explained. When asked about his life outside films, he described himself as an ordinary person. “I am 100 per cent aam aadmi. When I’m watching a movie, I’m a very normal person,” he said. He also shared how he enjoys doing nothing when he’s not working: “When I’m not working, I like to not do anything. Sometimes not even read a book. Not do anything. I love not doing anything.”
Pushpa 2’s Unstoppable Box Office Run
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule hit theaters on December 5, 2024 and quickly became one of the highest-grossing Indian films. The film, starring Allu Arjun alongside Rashmika Mandanna has reportedly earned ₹1,871 crore to date.
The movie set new records, collecting ₹294 crore globally on its first day. Within three days, it crossed ₹500 crore and in just six days, it surpassed ₹1,000 crore, marking its place in Indian cinema history. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and featuring music by Devi Sri Prasad, the film is now available for streaming on Netflix.
