The Recording Academy confirmed the event would proceed, emphasizing its role in raising funds for wildfire relief efforts. This year’s show will be more than just a celebration of music, as it aims to support the community rebuilding after the disaster.
Initially, there were concerns about whether Grammys 2025 ceremony would move forward or not, given the widespread destruction caused by the fires. However, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board Chair Tammy Hurt assured fans and industry professionals that the event would continue as planned, aligning with local authorities to ensure public safety. In a statement they explained saying, “This year’s Grammys will carry a renewed sense of purpose, honoring first responders and supporting wildfire relief efforts.”

The ceremony will also highlight the resilience of Los Angeles, a city deeply impacted by the fires which have displaced thousands and caused significant loss of life and property. The Recording Academy along with MusiCares has already pledged $1 million to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort and distributed over $2 million in emergency aid to music industry professionals affected by the crisis.
Top nominees for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards include Beyoncé with 10 nominations and artists like Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Post Malone and Kendrick Lamar. The show will be broadcast live on CBS from 8 to 11:30 p.m. ET and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
