“AR Rahman Is Like…”: Mohini Dey SHUTS DOWN Link-Up Rumours

The news of AR Rahman’s divorce from his wife Saira Banu after nearly three decades of marriage shocked fans and the entertainment industry alike. Around the same time, bassist Mohini Dey also announced her divorce which led to speculation and baseless rumours linking the two events. Addressing the misinformation spread, Mohini Dey has finally spoken out, opening up on the deep respect she holds for the musician saying “AR Rahman is like a father figure to me”.

Taking to Instagram, Mohini shared a heartfelt video and note clarifying her side of story. She stated, “AR Rahman is like a father to me. I have worked with him for over 8.5 years, and he has been a role model and a guiding force in my career.”

Mohini further explained that Rahman has a daughter her age and expressed gratitude for the opportunities she had while working with the music maestro on various projects including movies and tours.

In her Instagram post, Mohini captioned the post saying, “It is disheartening to see misinformation and baseless claims against me and @arrahman. The media’s attempts to link our personal matters are both disrespectful and insensitive.”

She also pointed out the profound impact mentors like her father, Ranjit Barot and Louiz Banks have had on her lif, alongside AR Rahman. In conclusion, Mohini urged the media and the public to respect their privacy, especially given the emotional toll of her recent divorce.

Amid the rumours, AR Rahman’s wife also responded indirectly through his estranged wife, Saira Banu. In an audio clip circulating online, Saira called Rahman “a gem of a person” and requested people not to spread negativity about him.
