Telugu actor Nani, known for his realistic performances and humility, recently faced backlash after criticizing Arshad Warsi. Warsi had made remarks about Prabhas, calling his portrayal in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ a “joker,” which sparked outrage among fans and Telugu celebrities. While some supported Prabhas, others criticized Warsi’s comments. Following the uproar, Nani feels regretful about his comments on the Bollywood actor’s opinion but emphasized the importance of expressing opinions responsibly.

You are glorifying an unimportant matter unnecessarily.” He acknowledged that his choice of words was poor and that accepting regret is important. He clarified that “it sounds worse when translated” and highlighted, after which how one comment can be blown out of proportion. Nani feels regretful and believes that taking responsibility is essential, whether it’s him or anyone else.
Nani explained that he had only seen cut clips of Arshad Warsi’s comments that were circulating on social media, just like the way his remarks were also taken out of context yesterday. He stated, “When it’s about someone you love dearly, you naturally react and say, ‘Why give so much importance to an unimportant matter?’” After watching his full interview following the backlash, he realized that the entire situation had been exaggerated by the media and social media, just like his reaction.
Furthermore, Nani stressed the need for actors to be cautious with their words, acknowledging that as public figures, they carry a responsibility. He noted, “We need to be extra careful with our words. In this case, both he and I are victims.” He also pointed out that it’s different when talking among friends, where one might casually criticize films and actors.
Additionally, in the recent interview with ETimes Natural star expressed saying, “Prabhas is someone whom everyone feels they own because of his humble nature over the years, everyone owns him. He’s not just this big star who does big films; but because of his humble nature, we feel like we own him.”
Talking out in same context, Telugu actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda said, “Everybody has a right to an opinion. We all like or dislike films and actors based on our preferences, and that’s alright. But how you express that opinion matters, especially when you’re part of the same industry and understand the challenges of sustaining a career.”
Nani is currently preparing for his upcoming film ‘Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’, directed by his previous ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ fame filmmaker Vivek Athreya. The film, which features SJ Suryah, Priyanka Mohan, Murli Sharma in pivotal roles and is set to release on August 29, 2024.
