Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 1: ‘Slow’ Start For Akshay Kumar’s Film

SarfiraBoxOffice: Directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, the much-awaited Bollywood adventure drama, “Sarfira” was finally released in the theatres on 12 July. Starring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan in the lead roles, the film opened up to “positive” reviews from moviegoers and critics. However, despite the extremely positive reception, the film took a slower start at the box office than expected.

Based on the Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ and inspired by Simplify Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath’s life, this movie tells the story of a visionary. His dream was to make air travel accessible to the common man, allowing them to fly for the price of a train ticket or even secure a flight ticket for just one rupee.

Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, Sarfira faced a direct box office clash with Kamal Haasan starrer “Indian 2”. As per Sacnilk, “Sarfira” registered a box office opening worth ₹ 2.40 Cr.

The box office opening of the film was lower than expected. However, if everything goes well, Sarfira could witness growth during the upcoming weekend (Saturday-Sunday). As per the trade experts, the film could cross the 6-10Cr mark by the end of the weekend.

About Sarfira

Directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role alongside Radhika Madan in the female lead role, and Paresh Rawal in a key role. Meanwhile, South star Suriya will be seen in a cameo role in the film.

Additionally, the film also stars Seema Biswas, R. Sarathkumar, Saurabh Goyal, Rahul Vohra, Prakash Belawadi, and Anil Charanjeett in supporting roles.
