As a sequel to the iconic 1996 vigilante film “Indian,” expectations were high. However, the film received largely negative reviews from critics and audiences alike, with many describing it as disappointing. As per Sacnilk.com, Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 registered a box office opening worth ₹ 26 Cr. While these numbers are solid, trade experts and box office predictions had anticipated a ₹50 crore debut. Despite achieving commendable figures, “Indian 2” fell short of the expected box office performance.

Not only did the film fail to register the expected opening, it also failed to beat Kamal Haasan’s previous film, Vikram which grossed a whopping ₹66 crore worldwide on its opening day. However, despite the underwhelming start at the box office, Kamal Haasan’s film, Indian 2 still managed to beat Akshay Kumar’s film, Sarfira.

According to trade experts, word of mouth could boost the growth of the film. Additionally, the film is expected to see growth during the upcoming weekend (Saturday-Sunday). If all goes well, Kamal Haasan’s film, Indian 2 could cross the 30-50cr mark by the end of the weekend.
