Veteran actor Smriti Biswas passes away at 100, in her Mumbai’s Nashik city residence. The charismatic actress died due to being aged and breathed her last moments on Wednesday.
Smriti started her career as a child artist at a very young age. She made her debut with a Bengali film – Sandhya and worked on multiple projects like Nek Dil, Kaise Bhulu?, Mukti and many more. She has worked for renowned filmmakers like Guru Dutt, Bimal Roy, and Raj Kapoor. Smriti’s last Hindi film was Model Girl.
Post her demise, actor Hansal Mehta penned an Instagram post remembering the lady and her enigmatic work done so far. He condoled her death with pictures and thanked her for blessing people’s lives. His post read, “Go away in peace and to a happier place dear Smritiji. Thank you for blessing our lives.
Apart from Mehta, many celebrities offered their heartfelt respect and condolences to the lady. During her young times of succeeding career, she has also worked opposite Dev Anand and Kishore Kumar. Post her marriage with S.D Narayan, she left acting and shifted to Nashik. Before her death, she was staying in the same one-room kitchen apartment in the city. Smriti had two kids with her husband Narayan – Satayajeet and Rajeev.
