According to Sacnilk, “Bad Newz” earned Rs 8.50 crores on Friday, marking Vicky’s highest solo release debut, surpassing “Uri: The Surgical Strike,” which opened with Rs 8.20 crores. Produced by Karan Johar, “Bad Newz” also outperformed the openings of his last two films, “Mr & Mrs Mahi” (Rs 6.75 crores) and his co-production “Kill” (Rs 1.25 crores).

“Bad Newz” is currently enjoying an unchallenged run at the box office. Competing films have struggled, with Akshay Kumar’s “Sarfira” experiencing inconsistent attendance and Kamal Haasan’s “Indian 2” already exiting theaters within a week of release. The film is expected to see further growth during the upcoming weekend (Saturday-Sunday), if everything goes well, the film could surpass the 15-20Cr mark by the end of the weekend.
