Based on the Indian Air Force, the aerial action film was released in theatres worldwide on January 25, 2024. The makers chose Republic Day for the special release, and it made complete sense, given the film had references to the 2019 Pulwama attack, the 2019 Balakot airstrike, and the 2019 India–Pakistan border skirmishes.

Unexpectedly, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s film received a ‘Thanda’ response at the box office. Many thought it would continue the blockbuster streak of success for Siddharth Anand after Pathaan (2023). The film has done decent business if one considers its individual run, but when compared, there were high hopes!

After 32 days, Fighter box office collection in India stood at 212 crores. It is the first Indian film of 2024 to have entered the 200 crore club. In the process, the action drama has also surpassed biggies like Salman Khan’s Bharat while it is also expected to leave behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki (219 crores).
Fighter Overseas Box Office Collection
Talking about the overseas market, Fighter has entered the 100 crore mark. The film has added a total collection of 100.50 crores. When added to 250.16 crores gross collections from India, the worldwide collections have now surged to 350.66 crores gross.
And with that, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer has left behind Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt‘s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani (348.89 crores gross). Drumrolls, please!
