One biggest reason is that M1 chip which is blazing fast and puts every single Intel MacBook Air to shame in an instant. Equally more amazing is that 13.3-inch Retina display that makes everything look like a glowing magazine paper. Once you go Retina, there's no way you're looking at any other display and for $799, both these features are wonderful to have.
Another thing that was made possible with the M1 chip is 18 hours of battery life. If you ever wanted a laptop for $799 that lasts an entire day, you really can't go wrong here at all.
