How to Find Your Wi-Fi Router Address on iPhone, iPad, Mac [Tutorial]

Find Wi-Fi router IP address on iPhone, iPad, Mac

Today we will show you how you can find and access your Wi-Fi router address in order to change settings on iPhone, iPad and the Mac.

Access Your Wi-Fi Router Settings Page by Location its IP Address Using Your iPhone, iPad or Mac

Everything on the internet has an IP address, that's a given. The stuff on your home or office network follow the same set of rules, but on a very smaller scale.

If you want to access to the settings on your Wi-Fi router, for any reason at all, then all you need to do is get hold of its address on your network, punch it into a web browser and you're golden. Today, we will be showing you how to do just that using your iPhone, iPad and Mac.

While this is a great way to customize the settings of your Wi-Fi router, but keep one thing in mind, there are some routers that require an app in order to be configured. There is nothing you can do in the web browser in order to change anything.

A great example of this is Google and Nest Wifi mesh systems. Even if you have the router IP address, you will hit a landing page that will literally ask you to download the app if you want to change anything at all.

Is this a bad thing? Of course not, since it ensures solid security and privacy. You really don't want a completely random stranger on your network to have access to your home or office network. There is a huge potential of data privacy risk here.

Anyway, let us show you how you can get hold of your Wi-Fi router's IP address using your Mac first.

Find Wi-Fi Router IP Address Using a Mac

Step 1. Assuming you are connected to Wi-Fi, click on the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Step 2. Now click on Network Preferences. You can reach this setting by going to System Preferences > Network as well.

Step 3. Select Wi-Fi from the left pane.

Step 4. Now click on Advanced.

Step 5. Click on TCP/IP at the top.

Step 6. Find the 'Router' setting from here.

Step 7. Copy this address and paste it in the Safari address bar and then hit enter.

In my case, I'm confronted with the Google / Nest Wifi page, asking me to download the app in order to access these settings. But obviously, you will see a completely different page.
