The Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad, under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS), has announced a total of 48 vacancies for the temporary positions of Junior Research Fellows (JRFs), Research Associates (RAs), and Project Scientist-I (PS-I) across various specialised streams, for which the detailed notification has been released under Advertisement No. SAC:02:2026. The vacancy distribution is 33 posts of JRF (Post Codes 01 to 07), 08 posts of Research Associate (Post Codes 08 to 10), and 07 posts of Project Scientist-I (Post Codes 11 to 16).

Applicants for the position of Junior Research Fellows (Post Code 01 to 07) should also have qualified one of the following:

  1. National Eligibility Test- CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship)
  2. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
  3. National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.

The above qualified examination result/score card should be valid on the closing date of online application i.e. 30.09.2026.

ISRO SAC Selection Process 2026

The selection of eligible candidates will be conducted through shortlisting (if required) and a personal interview. In case a large number of applications are received, shortlisting of candidates for the interview will be done based on academic records and subject specialisation. The decision of the SAC committee shall be final in this regard.

The shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. The list of shortlisted candidates and interview schedule will be published on the SAC website. The call letters for the interview to the short-listed candidates will be sent only by e-mail. No communication shall be made to the candidates who are not short-listed.

The interview of eligible candidates will be conducted by the selection committee and the selection panel will be prepared based on performance in the interview only.

The ISRO SAC Recruitment 2026 offers temporary positions with the following emoluments:
