TIFR Recruitment 2026 Post-Wise Eligibility & Age Limit
1–3. Scientific Officer (C)
Essential qualification is a full-time BE/B.Tech degree (60% aggregate) in Computer Science, IT, or Mechanical Engineering, or a full-time M.Sc. (60% aggregate) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Instrumentation, or a related discipline, depending on the specific post.
Experience requirements range from 1 to 3 years in the relevant domain (System/Network Administration, Cryogenic Engineering, or NMR Spectrometer operation). Maximum age is 28–31 years. Mode of Recruitment: Personal Interview / Written Test and Personal Interview.
4. Junior Engineer (B)
A full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (60% aggregate) with 2 years’ experience supervising maintenance of large air-conditioning systems in a reputed organization is required. Maximum age: 28 years. Mode of Recruitment: Personal Interview.
5–7. Scientific Assistant (B)
Requires a full-time Science Graduate (60% aggregate) in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related disciplines, or a full-time Engineering Diploma (60% aggregate) in a relevant field, plus 1 to 2 years’ experience in IT support, system administration, electronics, or related areas depending on the post. 11. Supervisor (Cosmetics Maintenance)
A 3-year Degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent with 2 years’ experience as Supervisor/Manager in a large hotel/hostel/company is required. Good computer knowledge and communication skills are essential. Maximum age: 28 years. Mode of Recruitment: Written Test and Skill Test.
12–16. Tradesman (B) [Plumber / Electrician / Welder / Technician Mechatronics]
Candidates must hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) with 60% aggregate from NCVT in the relevant trade with a minimum of 2 years’ experience, or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) with 60% aggregate and 1 year’s experience. Maximum age: 28–33 years depending on the category. Mode of Recruitment: Written Test and Trade Test.
17. Laboratory Assistant (B)
Requires an NTC (60% aggregate) from NCVT in Air Conditioning trade with 2 years’ experience, or NAC (60% aggregate) with 1 year’s experience. Selected candidates will work in round-the-clock shifts for the operation and maintenance of the accelerator facility and Helium liquefier. Maximum age: 28 years. Firefighting training/NCC certificate is required (not applicable for Defence/CAPF candidates). Physical fitness standards apply: for males, height not less than 165 cm, chest 80–85 cm; for females, height not less than 157 cm.
A Physical Efficiency Test including running, shot put, chin-ups, push-ups, and sit-ups will be conducted. Maximum age: 28 years. Mode of Recruitment: Written Test, Physical Fitness Test, and Physical Efficiency Test.
30. Project Administrative Assistant (B) – Temporary Post
