A new controversy has emerged around the upcoming film Kala Hiran: The Battle Of Legacy. The project recently grabbed attention after its poster was unveiled with the makers describing it as a story inspired by real-life legal battles. However, Salman Khan’s legal team has now stepped in, claiming that the film appears to be connected to the actor’s long-running blackbuck case.
According to reports in IANS, Salman Khan has sent a legal notice to the makers, asking them to immediately stop the development, promotion and release of the film. The notice also seeks the removal of promotional material already released in the public domain.
The legal notice argues that Salman Khan has “neither authorised nor consented to the use of his name, persona or the alleged incident associated with him in the proposed film.”
Salman Khan’s lawyers have further stated that the blackbuck case remains under consideration before the Rajasthan High Court. The notice reportedly also claims that the proposed film could interfere with judicial proceedings and affect the actor’s right to a fair trial.
The legal team has also asked the filmmakers to issue an unconditional written apology. Failure to comply, the notice states, could lead to civil and criminal proceedings.
Directed by Bharat S. Shrinate and produced by Amit Jani, Kala Hiran: The Battle Of Legacy is said to blend courtroom drama with crime-thriller elements. The film reportedly draws inspiration from real-life events and legal disputes.
The makers had announced that the teaser would be released on June 20. However, with legal proceedings now underway the future of the project remains uncertain.
