After months of rumours and recent sharp remarks made by wife Sunita Ahuja, actor Govinda has finally spoken out and his response is firm, emotional and revealing. The veteran star has claimed that there is a “big conspiracy” running against him which he was warned about it long before, alleged that not only within the industry but even his own family members are being unknowingly used to insult and corner him.
“Please Don’t Suffocate Me”: Govinda’s Appeal
Speaking to news agency ANI, Govinda reacted strongly to Sunita Ahuja’s public statements including her warning that he needs to “improve himself” and her claims about his personal life. The actor questioned why his marriage is being dragged into public discussion.
“How many times have I gotten married? It has been 40 years. Have I gotten married 2–3 times? Those who have gotten married so many times, their wives don’t say anything and they roam around and have fun in life,” he said.
“People who are in the film line don’t discuss these things socially… However, when you get cornered, you think about how to get out of this.”
Govinda added that he wants his family to stop making statements that make his life difficult. “I want to request not to create circumstances in my life that suffocate me, I request this especially from my own family.”
“Even Krushna Abhishek Is Being Used to Insult Me”
Govinda also spoke about his strained relationship with nephew and comedian Krushna Abhishek, alleging that television shows have often mocked him on purpose. “Even if you see Krushna Abhishek’s TV programmes, you will notice how writers would make him say things that would insult me,” he said. “I told him that he is being used to insult me and told him to be cautious of this.”
He added that these situations often lead to misunderstandings within the family and said he prefers to remain steady instead of reacting impulsively.
Why Govinda Doesn’t Push His Children in Bollywood
Responding to claims that he didn’t help his son Yashvardhan Ahuja build a career, Govinda clarified his stance. “I am doing work according to my aukat (ability). I don’t discuss my kids with producers and directors,” he said. “The industry is my family… I don’t want to put a black spot on it.”
“This Is a Bigger Conspiracy”
Govinda believes the timing of these issues is not random. “But you have to be alert in this industry… There is some conspiracy going on, people are trying to create notions about me,” he stated. Reflecting on his journey, he said, “Don’t think of me as a weak person. People should look back and before speaking should see the karma of a person and also their own karma.”
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja, the couple who are married for nearly 40 years now since 1987, share two children Tina and Yashvardhan. Despite past rumours of separation both had earlier denied any divorce. Now, Govinda says he only prays for clarity and peace. “I pray to God that there is no misunderstanding and that I don’t get suffocated,” he said.
