About the Role
The News Analyst role is part of Cognizant’s Digital Operations (BPO/KPO) division. The position focuses on analysing real-time news data, validating information accuracy, and supporting algorithm training and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse real-time data from multiple news datasets
- Identify and investigate errors in news alerts and captions
- Cross-check information using social media and online sources
- Write and edit captions for digital and social media platforms
- Apply business rules for data validation and quality checks
- Perform QA activities to improve dataset and algorithm output
- Stay updated with changing policies, processes, and workflows
- Adapt quickly in a fast-paced operational environment
Desired Skills and Eligibility
- Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Political/Social Sciences, or related fields (any graduate can apply)
- Strong interest in news, media, and current affairs
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (B2 level or above)
- Good analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Result-oriented mindset
- Foreign language proficiency is an added advantage
