Earlier this year, a heart-wrenching video of Tamil actor Abhinay Kinger went viral online where he said he might not have many days left to live. Sadly, his words turned true. The Thulluvadho Ilamai actor passed away at 44 after a long battle with liver disease. He had been struggling with liver-related complications for years.
Despite his condition was worsening, he continued working and living alone in Chennai. In one of his emotional appeals, the actor shared that doctors had told him he might only live for another year and a half and seeing his openness about his health had moved fans and his colleagues who then came forward to help.
As his medical bills piled up, Abhinay sought financial aid and actor Dhanush, who was his co-star from Thulluvadho Ilamai had reportedly contributed ₹5 lakh. On the other hand, comedian KPY Bala provided ₹1 lakh and their support brought temporary relief but couldn’t reverse his declining health.
Tamil actor Abhinay began his career alongside Dhanush in the 2002 hit Thulluvadho Ilamai, directed by Kasthuri Raja. The film became a turning point for both actors, who then went on to later appear in Jjunction, Singara Chennai, Pon Megalai, and more, also lent his voice to actor Vidyut Jammwal in Thuppakki and Anjaan.
Abhinay Kinger was living alone in a rented house in Kodambakkam. Following his death, Nadigar Sangam representatives stepped in to arrange his funeral as he had no immediate family members. The actor’s body was kept for public homage, allowing fans and colleagues to bid a final goodbye.
