On October 15, the entertainment world mourned the loss of veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, best remembered for his powerful portrayal of Karna in epic series of B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat. While his funeral was held in Mumbai, Salman Khan was among the celebrities who came to pay their final respects and he was seen giving heartfelt support to Pankaj’s son Nikitin Dheer while hugging him and that quickly went viral online. When Pankaj Dheer Remembered Salman Khan’s Childhood
In a flashback interview with Lehren, Pankaj Dheer recalled knowing Salman since he was a child. “Salman mere saamne ka baccha hai,” he shared warmly. “Bandra mein hamare saamne yeh chote-chote bacche hua karte the, cricket khelte the toh yeh ball laate the.” He fondly remembered watching the young boy who would one day become one of India’s biggest film stars, adding, “Kaun sochta tha ki yeh Salman Khan itna bada hero banega.”
His Emotional Praise for Salman Khan
Speaking with genuine affection, Pankaj Dheer described Salman Khan as one of the kindest people he’s ever known, the one who left everything for his family. “Salman se badiya aadmi hai hi nahi industry mein koi,” he said. “Vo bahut khoobsurat aadmi hai, usko toh salute hi kare hum. Main jab bhi milta hoon, gale lagata hoon.” His words reflected not only admiration but also deep emotional respect for the actor, whom he saw grow from a child into a man with a big heart.
He went on to say, “Kaam kare, nahi kare vo baat dusri hai, lekin waisa ladka hona bahut mushkil hai. Jo apni family ke liye sab kuch de de, uske jaisa dil kisi ke paas nahi.” For Pankaj Dheer, Salman was more than just a superstar, he was someone who embodied values of loyalty, humility and love for family.
