Selena Gomez is opening up about her journey with fiancé Benny Blanco as the two prepare for their wedding. The couple who went public in 2023, have known each other since Selena was 16 but their romance began much later. During her recent appearance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she reflected on the timing and admitted saying, “Definitely. I don’t think I would have been remotely mature enough… I’ve learned so many lessons [since then] that led me to being the best partner I could be for Benny.” While Benny often jokes about the lost years but Selena insists saying, “You wouldn’t have liked me back then. I was all over the place.”
Now deeply settled in their relationship, Selena can’t help but gush about Benny. “I appreciate his heart, his kindness, his quirks… He’s one of the most grounding people in my life, and he makes me feel very normal,” she shared with a smile. The couple is also building a new home in Beverly Hills where Gomez says Blanco surprisingly has a strong eye for interiors.
Further revealing details about her wedding plans, she revealed taking inspiration from Pinterest. “I have all my folders of inspiration for the wedding, for cooking, for style,” Selena revealed, adding that while they are yet to decide on a theme but she already has ideas for her bridal look with longtime makeup artist Hung Vanngo.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with her Only Murders in the Building co-stars, Gomez joked about wedding details. When asked if Steve Martin and Martin Short would be invited, she laughed, “Course they are; Marty’s the ring bearer.” Short leaned into the joke, pretending to present the ring in a Lord of the Rings voice which had Gomez and the audience in splits.
While there’s no set date yet, Gomez made it clear that planning is underway and that she’s “so excited.” With Blanco by her side and close friends teasingly involved, fans can expect a wedding that reflects love, laughter and plenty of personal touches.
