Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s children Samaira (20) and Kiaan Raj Kapur (15) have come forward to approach the Delhi High Court in seek of a share in their late father Sunjay Kapur’s assets. The estate in question is reportedly worth around ₹30,000 crore. The siblings allege that the will produced by Sunjay’s third wife Priya Sachdev Kapur is “forged and fabricated” and deliberately excludes them.
Meanwhile the senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani who is appearing on behalf of the children, told the court that Sunjay always kept his documents organized and the disputed will appears suspicious. He also pointed out that it is unregistered, which added to the doubts around its authenticity.
On the other hand, shockingly Priya Sachdev Kapur’s lawyer Rajiv Nair argued that Samaira and Kiaan have already received property worth about ₹1,900 crore through a trust. He further stated that “it is not necessary for the will to be registered” and emphasized that Priya Kapur is Sunjay’s last legal wife.They also claimed that it was conveyed to them just five days prior to filing of the suit, stating, “And after that your tone changes and you say you got nothing from the assets?” Through her legal team, Priya also urged for “some sympathy for the soul of the deceased”.
Meanwhile, Sunjay Kapur’s mother informed the court that property worth ₹10,000 crore is at stake and requested an order to maintain the status quo. The court has directed the defendants to file replies within two weeks and submit the original will in a sealed envelope alongwith a complete list of assets.
The High Court has registered the case and scheduled the next hearing for October 9, 2025. During this hearing, the bench led by Justice Jyoti Singh will consider whether to grant an interim stay on the assets.
The lawsuit also alleges that Priya initially denied the existence of any will, claiming that Sunjay’s assets were under the R K Family Trust. However, weeks later she produced a document naming her as the sole beneficiary. The children now seek to be declared Class I legal heirs and have demanded a partition of the estate asking for one-fifth share each in their father’s assets.
