
John Michael aka Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic voice behind Black Sabbath and a pillar of heavy metal has passed away at the age of 76. His family confirmed the news on social media through an emotional statement, saying he was surrounded by loved ones in his final moments. While the exact cause of death hasn’t been shared, Ozzy had been facing several health issues in recent years including Parkinson’s disease and multiple surgeries.
Ozzy rose to fame in the early ’70s as the frontman of Black Sabbath. With tracks like Paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs and more he helped define a genre that would influence generations. His voice, unique energy and stage presence made him unforgettable. Over the time he also built a successful solo career and became one of rock’s most recognized figures globally.
Just weeks before his death, Ozzy reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for a farewell concert called Back to the Beginning referring to this heartwarming occasion, fans are saying, “He said one final goodbye, rested and passed with his loved ones by his side. I can’t think of a better way to spend your final days. Rest in Peace, Ozzy”. The show held in Birmingham close to where the band started was a very emotional moment for the band and fans alike. Ozzy, sitting on a regal black throne had shared his gratitude with fans saying, “You’ve got no idea how I feel.”
Over the years, Ozzy Osbourne earned countless honours, from Grammy Awards to stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Birmingham’s Broad Street. He was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, once with the band and again as a solo artist.
Legendary rock icon is survived by his wife Sharon and the children Aimee, Kelly, Jack, Jessica and Louis. As tributes continue pouring in, Black Sabbath’s message says it all, “Ozzy Forever.”
His music, his voice and his legacy will always echo in the world of rock.
