Sidhu Moose Wala, the influential Punjabi singer and rapper who was shot dead in 2022 continues to make headlines even three years after his tragic death. And now the real motive behind his murder seems to have finally surfaced, as revealed in a recently released BBC documentary The Killing Call. While gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had already confessed to being behind the killing, many including Sidhu Moose Wala’s father says that the latest claims are misleading. However, Goldy Brar, an associate of Bishnoi and the man who allegedly carried out the murder has now shared fresh details.
According to Goldy Brar, he had been friends with Lawrence Bishnoi since 2018. In the documentary, he shockingly reveals that Sidhu Moose Wala used to text “good morning” and “good night” messages with Bishnoi. But things took a turn when Sidhu allegedly began building ties with Bishnoi’s rival group called the Bambiha gang and this growing friendship deeply angered Bishnoi. And Goldy explains that Sidhu supported a kabaddi event organized by the Bambiha gang, further straining his relationship with Bishnoi.

Goldy Brar also claimed that Sidhu Moose Wala’s alleged involvement in the murder of Vicky Middukhera was another major reason for the deadly fallout. Vicky, who was close to both Bishnoi and Lawrence, was reportedly killed by the Bambiha gang. Since Sidhu was known to have ties with them and Bishnoi’s group began suspecting his role in the murder. In Goldy Brar’s own words, “Moosewala’s actions had left him and his associates no choice. He (Moosewala) crossed lines which he shouldn’t have. We had no option but to kill him. He had to face the consequences of his actions. It was either him or us. As simple as that.”
Despite these serious accusations, Sidhu Moose Wala’s father Balkaur Singh Sidhu has strongly rejected the claims made in the documentary. As per the reports in Hindustan Times, he said, “The documentary builds a false narrative and maligns Moose Wala’s image. It has been released online in haste for commercial gains and could jeopardise the ongoing trial of his murder.”
The fatal attack on Sidhu Moose Wala took place on May 29, 2022 in Jawaharke village near his hometown Musa in Punjab’s Mansa district. While driving his black Mahindra Thar, he was followed by two cars. One of them blocked his path, and gunmen opened fire, spraying multiple bullets into his SUV. The 28-year-old singer was found dead in the driver’s seat by locals soon after.
