Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor was spotted at the private airport in Mumbai today, accompanied by her children Samaira and Kiaan, as they departed for Delhi to attend the funeral of Sunjay Kapur. Sunjay Kapur was Karisma Kapoor’s former husband and the father of their children, Kiaan and Samaira.
Both Samaira and Kiaan were dressed in white as they exited their vehicle to proceed to the airport. The children appeared to be visibly upset. Karisma took care of the necessary formalities at the airport. Sunjay Kapur, aged 53, passed away from a heart attack while playing Polo in Windsor, London on June 12.
Sunjay Kapur’s family has also released a statement regarding the final rites and prayer meeting. This note was signed by Sunjay’s mother, Rani Surinder Kapur, his wife, Priya, his daughter, Safira, and his son, Azarias. Additionally, the names of Samaira and Kiaan were included. The funeral for Sunjay Kapur is scheduled to take place at the Lodhi Road Crematorium in Delhi at 5 PM today. Furthermore, the family will conduct a prayer meeting at Taj Palace, New Delhi, on June 22.
Sunjay Kapur was married three times and had three children. His first marriage was to designer Nandita Mahtani in 1996, which lasted for four years. Subsequently, he married actress Karisma Kapoor in 2003, and they had two children: Samaira, who is 19, and Kiaan, who is 13. However, in 2014, Karisma and Sanjay mutually agreed to file for divorce, which was finalized in 2016. Afterward, Sunjay wed Priya Sachdev in 2017. The couple welcomed one son, Azarias. At the time of his passing, he was married to Priya.
