And a week before its release, the cast and crew gathered for a grand trailer launch on Sunday and the superstar addressed a question about the 31-year age difference between him and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. Soon after, his response quickly went viral causing a heated discussion online. Now, Singer Sona Mohapatra has took to X and reacted on Salman Khan ‘s remark.
Sona Mohapatra known for her outspoken opinions took a dig at Salman Salman Khan ‘s statement and she wrote, “Heroine aur heroine ke ‘BAAP’ ko koi problem nahin hai’..to jab inki shaadi ho jaegi &..’permission’ like garbage response on being asked about the out of context 31 year gap with his leading lady” She further called him the “Bhai of toxic masculinity”, stating that his response reflects outdated views on relationships and patriarchy. “The ‘BHAI’ of toxic masculinity, patriarchy doesn’t realise that #India has changed?” she added.

Sona Mohapatra’s reaction sparked discussions online. While some social media users supported her stance, others defended Salman Khan. One user commented, “If Rashmika doesn’t have an issue, why should anyone else?” Another wrote, “Sona is always looking for controversy.” On the other hand, some agreed with her and criticized Bollywood’s recurring trend of casting much older male leads opposite younger actresses.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan remains focused on Sikandar, which is expected to be a major Eid release. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, Anjini Dhawan, and Prateik Babbar.
