The much-awaited moment has arrived as Coldplay arrives in Mumbai to kick off their ‘Music of the Spheres’ World Tour in India. The band will perform three sold-out concerts at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21. Fans are even more thrilled to spot lead singer Chris Martin arriving with his partner, actress Dakota Johnson, quashing all speculation about their rumoured breakup. Chris greeted the paparazzi with a warm ‘Namaste’ while Dakota’s presence added to the excitement.
Chris wasted no time soaking in the city’s vibe. Shortly after landing, he visited Mumbai’s iconic Marine Drive and shared a picturesque photo on the band’s official Twitter handle. Along with the snap, he expressed his gratitude, writing, “We are so happy and grateful to be here in India.” His casual attire and cheerful demeanour matched the excitement of fans eagerly waiting for the shows.
The excitement for Coldplay’s return to India is palpable. All 1.5 lakh tickets for the Mumbai concerts sold out within 30 minutes when they were released in September 2024 with over 1.3 crore fans logging in to book them. The concerts are expected to draw 70,000 attendees each day, making this one of the grandest musical events in the country.
