Pushpa 2: The Rule hit theatres on December 5, living up to its hype as one of the most awaited films of 2024. The sequel opened to packed houses, earning a remarkable ₹165 crore net in India across all languages on its first day, as per early estimates. The Telugu version alone brought in ₹85 crore, while the Hindi version collected ₹67 crore, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. With this, Pushpa 2 box office day 1 collections have already shattered multiple records.
Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, Pushpa 2: The Rule became the biggest opener in Indian cinema. It overtook SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which had grossed ₹133 crore on its first day. The paid premiere shows, held on December 4 in select cities, added an additional ₹10.1 crore to the movie’s total collections.
The film was released on over 10,000 screens globally, making it a massive event. Reports suggest that including overseas collections, the movie grossed ₹200 crore worldwide on its opening day.
While Pushpa 2 performed exceptionally well across all languages, its Telugu version led the pack, followed by a strong showing in Hindi. The Tamil and Malayalam versions contributed ₹7 crore and ₹5 crore, respectively. The movie also set a new benchmark for Hindi dubbed films, beating Jawan’s ₹64 crore record.
