Diljit Dosanjh ‘s Dil-luminati concert shows are constantly making headlines. Earlier for his power-packed performances, to the absolute fan reaction – and now for the legal notices and intervention of state governments in her song choices. Diljit’s pune concert went completely dry, as the government did not allow the liquor permit for the moment. The Pune concert, that was held on Sunday, November 24th in Kothrud area was not served any amount of liquor as the excise department went of cancelling the liquor permit in the concert arena. Reason for the same was listed out as traffic issues.

The Excise department’s SP – CB Rajput, informed a media outlet that an application was received from the venue owner, stating an objection for serving liquor. Further objections against the concert being held at the Kakade Farm was also raised, with a plea to cancel the show. The BJP MLA who raised the objection stated, “Such shows are not part of the city’s culture. This will create a major disturbance for residents of the area. The event will also cause traffic jams. Hence, I have urged the city police commissioner to cancel the programme.”
Although the show went good performance-wise, but the last – minute setback of the event going dry came out unexpected. Recently, in the Ahmedabad concert,Diljit Dosanjh was seen challenging the government policies after he received a legal notice ahead of his Hyderabad concert. The Telangana government opposed to the artist’s songs using terms like liquor, alcohol and drugs and restricted him to use the same. However, Diljit tweaked the lyrics while at the concert, but gave a befitting response at his Ahmedabad concert. He urged the state governments to declare every state as a ‘dry state’ for a day, when his concert is scheduled and he will never make songs on liquor or drugs. He also clarified that bollywood hugely promotes and advertises alcohol but is never questioned about the same.
Not only in Ahmedabad, but Diljit Dosanjh also addressed the legal notice controversy in his Lucknow concert. He highlighted the factor that how nation’s economy holds huge dependency on the revenues generated via alcohol, by narrating the example of sale of liquor during covid pandemic. Despite the show going dry, the performance was a equal hit and fans were overly excited by his show. There was no ounce of frown in any fan’s face after the liquors were not served as Diljit ensured to keep the audience hooked with his thrilling performance.
