Kajal Aggarwal, one of the highest-paid and most beloved actresses in the South Indian film industry, won over Hindi audiences with her debut as the leading lady in the action-packed drama Singham (2011). However, she was later replaced by Kareena Kapoor Khan for the sequel Singham Returns (2014). Now, with the franchise set to expand with the release of Singham 3, but why Kajal Aggarwal is missing from the franchise, the actress now shares her thoughts.
In a recent conversation with News18, Kajal Aggarwal addressed her absence from Singham 3. Rather than showing any disappointment, Kajal responded with humour, saying, “It’s hard to say whether I wish I was part of Singham Again (laughs).” She further explained how as an actor, there’s always a bit of greed and it’s natural to want to be a part of every big project that gets made.
Kajal has no hard feelings about the replacement. In fact, she expressed excitement about the upcoming Singham 3, which boasts a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, among others. After watching the trailer, Kajal called it “smashing” and eagerly shared that she’s looking forward to its release.
Noting further, Kajal has been a fan of Rohit Shetty’s cop films and praised how the director has built his own cinematic universe. Despite not being a part of it anymore, she enthusiastically shared that she has watched all the films in the franchise and appreciates the scale and action they bring to the screen.
For those unaware, Kajal Aggarwal actually began her career in Bollywood with a minor role in Kyun! Ho Gaya Na… (2004) but her success skyrocketed in South Indian cinema. She made her mark in films across Telugu and Tamil industries and in between she appeared in Bollywood films like Special 26 and Final Cut of Director. Up next, she will be seen in Indian 3, Kanappa and Salman Khan’s Sikandar.
