The Munna Bhai series holds a special place in Indian cinema, with its blend of humor, warmth and powerful messages of kindness and change, it became a cultural phenomenon. The iconic duo of Munna Bhai, played by Sanjay Dutt and Circuit, portrayed by Arshad Warsi, became household names all thanks to Director Rajkumar Hirani. Now, there’s excitement in the air as it looks like these beloved characters might return for a third movie!
At a recent event in Mumbai, Director Rajkumar Hirani gave fans a big surprise by hinting at a third Munna Bhai film. He shared that there are multiple scripts in the works. “I have five half-finished scripts for Munna Bhai. I spent six months on a script, reach the interval, and it just wouldn’t go beyond that. There is a Munna Bhai LLB, Munna Bhai Chal Base, Munna Bhai Chale Amreeka and more,” Hirani revealed.
Fans may remember that after the success of Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), a third film called Munna Bhai Chale America was planned. However, it was cancelled after Sanjay Dutt faced legal issues.
Now, as the Dunki director hints at the possibility of part three it brings a ray of excitement. Further, director Rajkumar Hirani also explained how he wants the third film to be even better than the previous ones. He said, “The new movie must be greater than the old ones. It’s hard because so many ideas have already been used in movies over the last 100 years. But now, I have a unique idea and I am working on that idea.”
Hirani even joked that Sanjay Dutt is eager to start filming. “Sanju might just come home and threaten me to get done with the next!” Hirani laughed.
It seems that fans may finally get to see Munna Bhai 3. As director Rajkumar Hirani is seriously considering making it happen and with his record of hit films like 3 Idiots, PK, Sanju and Dunki this could be another big success!
