Coldplay, who is set for their most-anticipated tenth album titled ‘Moon Music’ release from their illustrious career’s discography, already received positive reviews for the first single, ‘Feels Like I’m Falling in Love,’ released on June 21. Now, the majestic band has announced their next single titled ‘We Pray’, surprising their fans with a performance at Glastonbury in June.
‘We Pray’ features collaborations from various artists, a hallmark of Coldplay’s music. The song includes contributions from British rapper Little Simz, Nigerian star Burna Boy, Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna, and Argentine singer Tini. Coldplay announced on social media that the single will hit the charts on August 23.
During their Glastonbury performance on June 29, Coldplay played ‘We Pray’ with Little Simz and Elyanna live on stage, thrilling fans. Burna Boy’s video clips appeared on the large screen in the background. Rumors circulated about the song’s title, with fans speculating it might be called ‘Supernova’, while the chorus features the line “And so we pray”, giving a glimpse of the song’s theme.
NME praised Coldplay’s Glastonbury show, awarding it four stars. They highlighted the band’s lively performance, which included exciting guest appearances and a moment with actor Michael J. Fox. Despite uncertainties about the band’s future, NME stated, “But tonight was a good crack at making history with a set that felt like home.”
Releasing on October 4 – ‘Moon Music’ follows Coldplay’s 2021 album ‘Music of the Spheres’, which explored a fictional planetary system called The Spheres. This album is their second concept album, following 2011’s ‘Mylo Xyloto’.
