RaayanBoxOffice: Directed by Dhanush, the much-awaited Tamil action-thriller, “Raayan” was finally released in the theatres on 26 July. Starring Dhanush, S.J. Suryah, and others, the film opened up to positive reviews and an impressive box office opening. Following the solid opening, the Tamil film has now managed to cross the 40cr mark at the box office over the weekend.

Starring Dhanush, the Tamil revenge drama, Raayan registered a solid opening at the box office worth, ₹ 13.65 Cr. After its impressive opening, the film witnessed further growth during the weekend, earning ₹ 13.75 Cr on Saturday and ₹ 14.75 Cr on Sunday. Raayan now stands at a total domestic box office collection of approx. ₹ 42.15 Cr.
Raayan Plot
Raayan (Dhanush), the eldest of four siblings, takes care of his brothers and sister after their parents disappear. In their Tamil Nadu town, gangsters Sekar (SJ Suryah) and Saravanan maintain a fragile peace. When a new police commissioner (Prakash Raj) arrives, he disrupts this balance, exposing the gangs’ secrets. Raayan, who runs a small food stall, gets dragged into the ensuing gang war after an incident shakes their happy life. The story follows Raayan’s struggle in this dangerous conflict.

Written and starring Dhanush, “Raayan” hit theaters on Friday. This film marks Dhanush’s second directorial effort and 50th feature film. The cast includes SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, and others. AR Rahman composed the music, marking his fourth collaboration with Dhanush.
