Famous singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was arrested on Monday, July 22 at the Dubai airport. Sources say the singer reached Dubai for the recording of a new song, however, he was detained by the Dubai police authorities. The news came out after Pakistani media covered and telecaste the details.
Rahat who has given his melodius voice was to many Indian films was a part of some major controversy from some time. A report as claimed by Geo TV said that Rahat’s former manager Ahmed filed complaints against him to the Dubai authorities. This led to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan arrest.

Rahat Denied Claims Of His Arrest, Shares A Video
Hours after the detention, the singer turned up to dismiss the report saying that there is no honesty in the spread claims. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan posted a video online where he is seen sitting and urging his fans not to believe in anything they hear regarding the arrest.
In the shared video, Rahat said, “I am Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, your Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. I have come to Dubai to record my songs… Everything is fine….Mai yehi aap see guzaarish karunga ki ghatiya afvahon pe bilkul bhi kaan na dhare..Aesa kuch nahi hai jaisa dushman soch rahe hai, Inshallah may jald hi apne vatan-e-azees mein vapas aaunga”.Although what is being reported by the media and what Rahat expressed in the video are two different things. However, it is still not known if the arrest was just fake rumor or actual detention took place.
About The Arrest
Rahat recently gained criticisim from wirldwide when one of his videos went viral online. The Pakistani singer showed him slapping a man who was later referred to as his “student”. The video garnered a lot of outrage after it went online.
Causing defamation to someone is a very big concern in Dubai. Reportedly, Rahat’a former manager Ahmed had submitted reports and complaints against him on July 13th and on Monday he was taken into custody after he arrived the the Dubai airport.
Sources say that he was given a bail after a couple of hours, however he chose to keep shut on the same and said nothing if he was arrested or not.
